After a period of operation, parts of industrial fans may experience wear and tear and damage. It is necessary to check and maintain regularly for industrial fans to help the fan operate more stably, and more durable, and to promptly detect fan problems.
Below is a list of maintenance, industrial fan maintenance. Save it now and apply it. Industrial fan maintenance checklist may interest you.
Check overview
1.Vibration Control
Check whether the running fan is shaken or not and whether free movement occurs. If during operation, the fan occurs violent vibration. Please double-check the following problem:
- Is there a problem with the anti-vibration part of the fan?
- Is the surface of the fan flat?
If in the above two cases, there is no problem. Continue checking the following parts.
2. Monitor and control temperature
Industrial fans when operating continuously for a long time, can emit a large amount of heat. Check if the continuous running temperature of the fan exceeds the temperature range. If they exceed the specified temperature, they can cause problems if you are not careful. Additional temperature sensors can be installed for easier control.
Note:
Start the fan when the fan temperature is normal. Do not start the fan if there is hot air inside the fan.
3. Check specs
Check and re-measure the technical parameters to see if the industrial exhaust fan still achieves the original parameters. If you encounter a condition that does not meet the original parameters, you continue to check each other part to find out the cause and how to handle it.
Technical inspection
4. Equipment cleaning
Regularly check and clean industrial exhaust fans to ensure normal operation of fans. Avoid foreign objects trapped in the fan, or the fan with too much dirt causing clogging and inefficient operation.
5. Lubricating bearings
It is necessary to keep the bearings lubricated. Because lack of bearing lubricant can be the cause of fan failure. Industrial fans may operate less efficiently. Therefore, it is always necessary to keep the bearings lubricated periodically.
Set up a reminder schedule to check in regularly.
6. Check for corrosion of parts
After a period of operation, parts may corrode, creating cracks in parts such as the base, cover, air intake box, etc. If you check for cracks, it is best to contact the fan manufacturers to determine if replacement or reasonable repair is available.
7. Clean the fan motor
Periodically check the motor to make sure the fan is operating stably. Clean the engine cover, because after a while they can collect a large amount of dust.
8. Check the tightness of the screws, couplings
Check the coupling positions, screw positions are screwed tight or not.
Steps to clean industrial exhaust fans
In addition to fan maintenance, it is necessary to clean the fan periodically as follows:
Step 1: Prepare
1. Turn off the power of the fan completely, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
2. Prepare specialized tools for fan assembly
3. Prepare cleaning tools: dust brush, cleaning cloth, and specialized cleaning solution. If there is no specialized cleaning solution, you can use dishwashing liquid diluted with water.
Note: Do not use chemicals such as gasoline, or alcohol to clean the fan.
Step 2: Clean each fan unit
- 1. Use specialized tools to remove the joints, and disassemble the fan parts.
- 2. Use a washcloth soaked in the prepared cleaning solution. Clean the surface of the fan parts. Note: Wipes need to be wrung dry before wiping, to prevent water from entering the engine parts, causing an engine fire.
- 3. Clean both the front and back of the fan, parts such as propellers, fan cages, etc.
- 4. In remote locations or through small slots, a blower can be used to blow the dust or a long stick can be used to clean it.
- 5. To wipe off the remaining grease, use a thin cloth covered with sawdust to rub on the greased areas near the propellers, shafts, rotating bearings, etc.
- 6. Wipe off the sawdust layer with a cleaning cloth.
Step 3: After cleaning
- 1. Use a dry towel or blow-dry blower to dry the exhaust fan parts.
- 2. Install the parts back to their original positions.
- 3. Note to tighten the joints and screws to ensure the stability of the fan.
- 4. The fan should not be used immediately. Allow a few hours for the fan to dry completely before using it.
Notes when using industrial exhaust fans
- 1. During transportation and installation, do not let the fan be bumped because it may deform or damage the fan.
- 2. Check electrical safety before operating the fan.
- 3. Monitor parameters and whether the fan is stable or not.
- 4. Check joints regularly
- 5. Periodically check the impeller, and clean the impeller.
